As if Carl Crawford going to Boston wasn't a bad enough slap in the face to the Yankees, now they can add the Texas Rangers to their "holiday naughty list."

According to Jayson Stark from ESPN, pitcher Brandon Webb has signed a 1-year contract with the Texas Rangers. The deal is worth $3 million plus incentives, pending a physical.

This is a potential "high risk, high reward" situation for the Rangers after losing the Cliff Lee sweepstakes. From 2006-2008, Webb was a Cy Young winner for the Diamondbacks and finished second for the award the other 2 seasons.

Webb had surgery on his throwing shoulder in August of 2009, and has not pitched a full game since then. Webb spent the 2010 season in the Arizona Instructional League
