The New York Yankees have welcomed the National League MVP to the Bronx today. Stanton lead the majors in Home Runs and RBI's. He will add his powerful bat to an already potent line up that was already one game away from the World Series without him.

The questions that surround the team are well worth the pluses Stanton adds to the Yankees. In exchange for Giancarlo Stanton the Miami Marlins will receive Second baseman Starlin Castro and two single A players. The Marlins will also send the Yankees $30 million towards the rest of Stanton's 10 year $295 million contract.

Contract Notes:

  • Full No Trade Clause
  • Player can opt-out after 2020
  • 2028 Club Option contains a $10 million buyout
  • Gold Glove, Silver Slugger, All Star: $50,000
  • MVP: $100,000
  • LCS MVP: $250,000
  • World Series MVP: $500,000
  • Marlins will retain $30M in salary if the 2020 opt-out is declined

I know it's far too early and there's still work to do with the starting rotation but this looks like a great time to be a Yankee fan.
