Sam Darnold looks legit. Ever since returning from a foot injury that sidelined the rookie quarterback for three games, Darnold has led the Jets to a come-from-behind, game-winning drive at Buffalo and had both the Texans and Packers down late in the 4th quarter. Oh yeah, and he has the highest QBR in the NFL over those three games.

Prior to the injury, there was talk that giving the 21-year old a break from game action might be beneficial and as circumstances dictated, the breather worked perfectly. It allowed Darnold to sit back and watch a veteran like Josh McCown prepare and operate while also affording him the luxury of a different perspective during an NFL game; one of someone who could simply observe and take mental notes.

Head coach Todd Bowles' fate has been sealed for a number of weeks now it seems, but the future of GM Mike Maccagnan is still very much in question. ESPN Jets reporter Rich Cimini gives us the inside information while also sharing some advice for the Jets as they move into 2019 with their franchise quarterback already in place.
