After winning a franchise-worst 17 games last season, Charles Barkley "guaranteed" the Knicks would make the post-season this year. Does New York Post beat writer Marc Berman agree?

“I don’t think so," said Berman, to "Armen and Levack, on Wednesday. "I look at the top eight teams from last season. The Nets will drop out of the top 8 in the east. Then you’ve got Miami and Indiana. Clearly, Miami is better than the Knicks. I think the Pacers with Paul George are maybe not as deep as the Knicks, but they just have too many better players in their starting lineup.

"I think the Knicks can stay in the race. There is going to be better chemistry this year and better defense. Carmelo will stay healthy and I think they can maybe get to 35 victories, but I don’t think that’s going to do it.

"I’m just hoping in late March I’m still on your show talking about a playoff race."

We do too, Marc! You were a little grumpy towards the second half of the season last year, but hey, no one can blame you, having to cover that disastrous team in 2014-2015. Here's to hoping that this year will be better!
