In one Stone Cold Stunner of an announcement, 2K Games has announced that the next the WWE and NBA 2K titles will be suplexing and dunking their ways to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

According to CVG, the sales of WWE 2K14 went beyond anything Take-Two was anticipating and has cemented itself to be a successful franchise for Take-Two to continue to put out regularly. "Our WWE franchise has quickly proven to be a successful addition to our portfolio," Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick stated during an earnings call.

With the anticipated launch of the 'WWE Network' this month (a Netflix-like video streaming service which will offer every recorded program spanning the wrestling company's 50+ year history), we expect that games associated to the WWE brand will likely sell even better, coinciding with the company's' rising fanbase. WWE 2K14 was Take-Two's first WWE title after picking up the rights to the franchise when THQ filed for bankruptcy at the end of 2012.

Zenick also stated that "[NBA] 2K builds upon their legacy of delivering the highest rated and top selling basketball video game with their current next-gen releases of NBA 2K14." This is in response to NBA 2K14's admirable sales numbers for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which acted as a launch title for both platforms. Take-Two also claimed that NBA 2K14 was the fastest-selling title in the franchise's history, with more than 5 million sales between its PC and console editions.

There's no date or details on either title yet, but the annual October releases will probably have more info available later this year.
