The Yankees ended their four game losing streak Monday night by defeating the Seattle Mariners 4-1.

All the talk before the game was obviously the acquisition of Ichiro Suzuki. In his first at bat as a Yankee, Ichiro would single and get a stolen base in the top of the 3rd. The Mariners however would get on the board first in the bottom of the 3rd thanks to an RBI from John Jaso. The Yankees would get that run back and then some in the top of the 4th thanks to RBI's from Mark Teixeria, Raul Ibanez and Andruw Jones off of Seattle starter Kevin Millwood.  Alex Rodriguez would tack on another run with a blast in the top of the 8th much to the dismay of all the booing Mariners fans.

Hiroki Kuroda was superb for the Yankees  going 7 innings allowing only the one run and striking out 9. David Robertson would take over the 8th striking out 2. Rafael Soriano would make up for his blown save Sunday by taking care of the 9th inning for the win. Ichiro would end up making the final out on the pop up by Jesus Montero.

Game 2 of this 3 game series continues tomorrow in Seattle with former Mariner Freddy Garcia taking the mound for the Yankees up against "King" Felix Hernandez. You can check out all the action on 104.5 The Team ESPN Radio. Pregame kicks off at 9:30, first pitch at 10:05.
