Jesus Montero will be on the Yankees 40-man roster and will finally be getting at bats for the month of the September.

But will he be with the big club in the playoffs?

The Yankees will call up their rookie catcher on Thursday when the Major League active rosters expand to 40 players.

Montero has a shot to make a big impression with his first few games in the Bronx. Montero is the highly anticipated minor leaguer the Yankees have been fighting to hold on to for the last few seasons. Now, Yankee fans can see if they made the right move holding on to the young prospect or if they should have dealt him a long time ago.

Montero earned the call up from Scranton by hitting .288 with 18 home runs and 67 RBI in 109 games with the Yankees' AAA affiliate.  The 21-year old has 5 homers in his last 7 games.

As for his chances to play in the postseason, I think they are good. If he has a strong September, he could easily replace Posada on the post season roster as the DH for the Yankees.  He can play himself into the next big fan favorite in the Bronx, like Joba Chamberlain did in 2008. I, for one, think it's about time we are allowed to see what this kid can do and its really about time he gets a crack at the pros. I wish him all the best and hope he becomes a real impact player for the New York Yankees this October.
