Injuries have plagued Major League Baseball this season and quite a few Yankees have been injured as well. You can now add CC Sabathia to that list as he has been placed on the 15 day DL.

According to Yankees Manager Joe Girardi, CC has a Grade 1 strain of the adductor muscle near his left leg.  This is considered a minor injury and the DL stint is just precautionary so no further damage is done.  CC said he felt the pain during his start against the Mets on Sunday but didn't say anything until his bullpen session on Tuesday.

Freddy Garcia will come out of the Bullpen and take CC's start on Friday. Garcia was taken out of the starting rotation a few months ago after many awful stars.  In his four starts with the Yankees, Garcia was 0-2 with a 12.51 ERA His last 2 starts he didn't get out of the 2nd inning.  Sabathia isn't expected to be back until after the All-Star Break and will miss at least 2 starts.  So Far this season CC is 9-3 with a 3.45 ERA.
