The Yankees beat the Red Sox 4-1 on Thursday night for the 10,000th win in the history of the franchise.

That 10,000th win was significant as it also helped the scuffling Yankees clinch a playoff berth. The Yanks have yet to clinch home-field advantage in that wild-card game.

The Yanks got on the board early, scoring twice in the second inning on a home run from Carlos Beltran and a single from Brendan Ryan.

The BoSox came back in the fifth, scoring on a single from Mookie Betts to make it 2-1.

The youngsters helped the Yanks cement the win later in the game as Greg Bird and Rob Refsnyder each homered to make it 4-1.

C.C. Sabathia got his sixth win of the season (6-10). He went five innings and surrendered six hits and just one run. He also had three strikeouts.

Dellin Betances shut the door for his ninth save of the season.
