Yankees Fall As C.C. Shines

The New York Yankees have fallen back under .500 after losing the final two games in their home series against the Blue Jays. On Thursday, the Bombers lost the matinee 3-1 as they spoil another C.C. Sabathia stellar performance.

Sabathia threw 7 innings using only 83 pitches, struck out seven, gave up two hits, and zero earned runs, yet still picked up the loss as the Yankee offense once again failed to supply run support to their starting pitcher.

"He did everything he needed to do to win the game," manager Joe Girardi said. "We just didn't score."

Starlin Castro supplied the only Yankees run in the first inning with an opposite field blast off of J.A. Happ.

The Yankees now get set for another possible pitchers-duel as Masahiro Tanaka takes on Chris archer at Tropicana Field Friday night as New York heads back on the road.
