The Yankees (18-14) bats came alive against Seattle Mariners (15-19) ace Felix Hernandez during the 6-2 victory on Friday night. They tagged the 2010 Cy Young winner for 11 hits and four runs in his 6 2/3 innings of work. The Yankees gathered 14 hits in all with every one hitting safely aside from Russell Martin.

The Yankees got on the board in the first inning thanks to a Robinson Cano RBI single. Cano who has been hot lately finished the game 4-4. The big blast of the night came off the bat of Raul Ibanez. With the Yankees trailing 2-1 in the sixth Ibanez stepped in a launched a 3-run home run putting the Yankees on top 4-2. Ibanez now has six homers on the season. Andruw Jones, pinch hitting for Eric Chavez added two more with a home run of his own in the eighth inning. Jones now has four home runs this season.

Hiroki Kuroda looked great in his start going seven innings giving up two runs on six hits. The two Mariner runs both came via the solo home run. Second basemen Dustin Ackley led off the game with home run, his second of the year. And former Yankee Jesus Montero hit an opposite field shot in the sixth, his fifth.  Kuroda is now 3-4 with a 3.56 ERA.

The Yankees play the Mariners again Saturday afternoon. Hector Noesi (2-3 6.30) starts for the Mariners while Phil Hughes (2-4 6.67) will start for the Yankees. Pregame starts at 3:30, first pitch at 4:05 right here on 104.5 The Team ESPN Radio.
