So after losing out on Carl Crawford and Cliff Lee, the Yankees' offseason woes couldn't get any worse... or could they?

Well according to Bruce Levine of, yes they can. Kerry Wood is working on a deal with the Chicago Cubs, where he would reunite with the team he started his MLB career with as a set-up man for closer Carlos Marmol.

Wood was traded from the Indians to the Yankees at the trade deadline last season, where he served as an excellent set-up man for Mariano Rivera. So now, the Yankees are stuck for the time being with going back to David Robertson and Jobber as the bridge to Mo.

Yeah... that's not good. I wonder how oblivious Yankee fanatics are going to twist this news as a good thing for their team, because I can't think of anything.
