Less than 12 hours into his New York Yankees career Chase Headley has already become a Yankee great.

Headley hit a game-winning single in the 14th inning to give New York a 2-1 victory over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night.

After the Rangers J.P. Arencibia hit a leadoff homer in the 13th to take a commanding 1-0 lead,  Yankees Brett Gardner came back with a leadoff double followed by a Jacoby Ellsbury's tying single.

The teams combined to use 17 pitchers in a game that took 4 hours, 59 minutes.
