Yankees Reach Deals With Robertson and Chamberlain

The New York Yankees today announced that they have agreed to 1 year non guaranteed deals with pitchers David Robertson and Joba Chamberlain avoiding arbitration.

Robertson was a strong part of the bullpen last season making 70 relief appearance with a 1.08 ERA. Robertson held opposing batters to a .170 batting average while striking out 100.  With that tremendous season he made his first All-Star game.appearance.

Chamberlain had a rough year mainly due to the fact that he missed most of the season due to Tommy John Surgery. In the few month that he did play he had a 2.83 ERA in 27 relief appearances striking out 24.
