One New York's prospect failure is another's fame: Mets prospect Amed Rosario has been named to the MLB Futures Game in place of Yankees prospect Jorge Mateo.

Why is Mateo not playing in Sunday's showcase of talent? The Yankees suspended him for two weeks following comments he made to Yankees personnel about why he hasn't received a promotion to AA. He also suggested that the organization release a player in Trenton to make room for him.

Not the best look for Mateo, who is part of the next "Big 3" prospects for the Yankees with Aaron Judge and Luis Severino. Only 21-years old, Mateo has been hitting .266 with Single-A Tampa and has stolen 26 bases in 38 attempts.

I understand his desire to be promoted, but a simple conversation probably would have sufficed. Now, he's suffering as he can't put his talent on display for two weeks and can't play in the Futures Game.
