The New York Yankees are looking to fill the DH spot left void by Jorge Posada and have reached out the Cubs Carlos Pena.

The new York Yankees already have a pretty dangerous batting order, but need a new designated hitter since Jorge Posada announced his retirement.  They have a couple options for occasional DH, but need someone full time.

According to ESPN, they have spoken with Carlos Pena.  Not only could Pena fill the DH spot, but he could also fill in on first base for Mark Teixeira too.  It could be a good add to the line up for the Yanks, but sources say that Pena will need to take a big pay cut to join the team.
