The Yankees have traded reliever Justin Wilson to the Tigers for prospects Luis Cessa and Chad Green.

This is a bit of an odd move. While these prospects represent the No. 6 and No. 19 prospects in the Tigers organization (via MLBTradeRumors), Wilson had a good season working in a solid Yankees bullpen.

He pitched to a 3.10 ERA and struck out 9.7/nine innings. He's also left-handed. Those relievers don't just grow on trees and the Yankees just gave him away.

The Yankees have Andrew Miller and Dellin Betances and Chasen Shreve. They have pieces in that 'pen, but this seems a bit odd to me.

If the prospects eventually pan out, they will contribute to the ongoing Yankees youth movement. That will be a good thing, but for now, it's a bit hard to understand.

The Yankees made the playoffs in 2015 but lost to the Houston Astros in the wild card game in the American League.
