The latest trade from the New York Yankees that sends catcher Brian McCann to the Houston Astros makes absolutely perfect sense. The Bronx Bombers will save $23 million dollars over the next two years of McCann's contract, money that will be used in free agency. The Yankees top priority is bringing back Aroldis Chapman as their closer, and they will now have the available money to make that happen. New York is where Chapman wants to be as well. The deal with Houston also means that the Yankees are comfortable with Gary Sanchez as their full time catcher. If he can replicate the production he had this past season, so am I.
