AJ Burnett will most likely not be a New York Yankee when the 2012 season gets underway.  The Yanks have been looking for a new home for the inconsistent pitcher and they have been talking with four teams.  The front runner for Burnett, The Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Pirates are looking for a veteran pitcher who can provide them with some decent performances, but can't take on all of Burnett's contract.  He is owed $33 million over the next two seasons, and the Yankees will eat some of that if it means getting something in exchange for Burnett.  Right now they are waiting to see who Pittsburgh will send to them.
