Quite the day at Yankee Stadium. We got to see the old timers play and the Yankees get the 6-4 win over Colorado to top it off.

The Yankees end up taking the weekend series with Colorado 2-1.  They finished up with a 6-4 win today.  A win that included home runs by Nick Swisher, Mark Teixeira and Jorge Posada.  Once again the Yankee bats help out the Yankee starting rotation.

Ivan Nova was in okay form today against the Rockies.  He went 6 innings but gave up  4 runs on 6 hits.  The bullpen came in for relief and held Colorado scoreless for the game and allowed just one hit.  Mariano Rivera picks up the save.

The best part about the win is that it gives the Yankees a half game lead for first place in the AL East over the Boston Red Sox.  Boston did beat the Pittsburgh Pirates today to stay within walking distance of that first spot at the first Yankee slip up.

Yanks are off tomorrow before beginning a midweek series with Milwaukee on Tuesday.
