I don't like this. I don't think anyone does. As a pitcher for my whole life, I think this is the scariest thing in sports.

It serves as a reminder that the mound is very close, and when you're talking about professional hitters, it feels even closer.

Last night in the Yankees win over the Twins, Yankees starting pitcher Bryan Mitchell was hit in the face by a line drive off the bat of former Yankee Eduardo Nunez.

You can watch the video here, but I warn you, these things are hard to watch.

Mitchell suffered a small fracture in his nose. He's lucky that's all it is.

The 24-year-old was a 16th round draft pick in 2009 out of high school. He's 0-1 this season with 3.72 ERA in 19.1 innings pitched.

Here's to hoping Mitchell is back on the mound for the Yankees soon. What a scary moment last night in New York.
