The hard fought battle could end up paying off for the Texas Rangers.  They lost CJ Wilson, but Darvish was impressive in his first Spring training start of 2012.  He threw 2 innings, gave up 2 hits, no runs, and had 3 strike outs.

Darvish threw some good pitches, including a fastball that ranged from 92-95 mph.  He also tossed his 80 mph cure ball, a split finger fastball, and a pretty good slider.  He threw a total of 36 pitches, 26 of them were strikes.  Pitching coach Mike Maddux said it was a good debut for a rookie.
