The Oldest Brewery in New York State Has FREE Mug Club Now
The oldest brewery in the entire New York State is right here around Buffalo. The brewery opened up in 1986 and it is one that often gets overlooked because it was not part of the 'brewery boom' that happened from 2009-2013.
The Buffalo Brewpub in Williamsville, New York is on the corner of Main Street and Transit Road. The brewery has the biggest 'mug club' we have ever seen. You know what we are talking about--bars will let you buy a mug and it gets hung on display and you get to use it every time that you go in. Most times there is a price and they can get kind of pricey: up to $150 we have seen.
The mug club at the Buffalo Brewpub is not only the largest mug club in New York State with nearly 12,000 mugs, but it is also free. You have to drink 20 beers in order to get your mug, so technically it is not free, but you don't have to pay for the mug itself.
Take a look at the video below. Here is why they are missing mugs number 1 through 4.
Here is when you get REMOVED from the wall at Bar Bill if you have a mug.
At one point in our lives, we've all walked into Bar Bill in East Aurora and have asked 'how do you get a mug up there?' Well, anyone can get a mug--but, there's a waiting list.
Once you get your name on the mug and you're on the wall--you're kind of on a time limit. If the bartenders notice that you have no been in a little bit, they'll put a napkin in your cup--if it's been a while the napkin is in there--you're moving UPSTAIRS to storage.
