New York Driver Tries To Fool Police With Hand-Drawn Inspection Sticker
New York driver charged with switching license plates and for bad artwork? Both of those charges are true, in a way. Wait until you see the fake, hand-drawn inspection and registration documents this driver displayed on their vehicle. You won't believe it.
On one hand, you have to give this driver credit for their creativity and the time and effort that went into creating false inspection and registration documents and having the nerve to display them for all to see. On the other hand, there is no way they thought they would actually get away with this, right?

In New York State, each vehicle registered in the state is required to have a safety and emissions inspection at least once every 12 months. The purpose is to ensure every vehicle meets the minimum standards for safe operation on public streets and highways. In addition, most vehicles are subject to an emissions inspection to help reduce air pollution.
Recently, a New York State trooper conducted a traffic stop for switched plates on a different vehicle. During the traffic stop, the officer quickly noticed something unusual. The vehicle’s “inspection” and “registration” on the windshield were not official at all. In fact, they appeared to be hand-drawn using a mix of pen, marker, and crayon.
New Yorkers reacted to this "artsy" attempt to bypass the law. Here are some of thee comments for the New York State Police Facebook page;
- Well, I have to admit. It was creative. Illegal, but creative. - David G.
- Check his driver's license it probably say " I am 12 " on it. - Matthew W.
- If ya squint , it’s mint. - Kevin F
