2 individuals from the Capital Region have been arrested and charged with 91 counts of burglary stemming from incidents at a storage unit in Duanesburg.

On Tuesday November 1, 2022, according to a New York State Police press release, Troopers began an investigation at Superior Storage in Duanesburg. The initial report suggested that multiple storage units had been broken into. As officers looked into it they discovered 91 individual units had been broken into and items are missing.

New York State Troopers determined that the property had been broken into multiple times. Whoever committed this crime is suspected of breaking the padlocks on 91 storage units, opened them up stole stuff from the units.

On Tuesday January 17th State Police arrested two suspects in connection with the crimes at Superior Storage. 29-year-old Edward A. Cruz Jr. and 28-year-old Trista V. Lohmeyer, each of Albany, have been charged with the following:

  • 91 counts of Burglary in the 3rd degree
  • Grand larceny in the 4th degree
  • 4 counts of conspiracy in the 5th degree
  • 4 counts of criminal mischief in the 4th degree
  • 4 counts of petit larceny
  • Criminal possession of a burglary tool

How were these 2 individuals caught? They were arrested following a traffic stop in Princetown. The suspects were taken to State Police Headquarters in Princetown then to the Schenectady County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
