The Capital Region Says Goodbye To Popular Restaurant Chain
One of the nations longstanding and popular restaurant chains has closed its last remaining Capital Region location.
2024 has certainly been a tough year in the retail and service industry, on both the local and national levels. There has been a recent flurry of national chain retailers and restaurants shutting down locations nationwide, and many of them have hit home here in the Capital Region.
LL Lumber, Red Lobster, and Big Lots have all announced local closings recently. And now a popular restaurant chain that was still holding on with one final Capital Region location is leaving the are for good.
TGI Friday's Closes Last Capital Region Location
I am sure at some point in your life you have dined and made some memories at a TGI Friday's. My wife Stacy and I actually had a our first date at a Friday's way back in 2004!
The recent run of TGI Friday's earteries closing in the area started with the Guilderland location that closed late last year, Then a few short weeks ago, the Clifton Park Friday's closed its doors for good. Now, we heard the sad news yesterday that the last remaining Capital Region Friday's has also shut down.
According to News 10, the TGI Friday's on Route 50 in Wilton (Pictured above) closed permanently yesterday (October 24, 2024). According to a report from Taste Of Country the restaurant chain has closed multiple stores across several states as they look to sell the restaurants and prepare for bankruptcy.
Long live the red and white striped shirts and all the crazy things those waters and waitresses would place on their uniforms!
