Whitehall, New York, proudly calls itself the “Bigfoot Capital of the Northeast” — and they mean it.

The small Washington County town not only embraced the legend, but it went so far as to adopt Sasquatch as its community animal officially. With dozens of alleged sightings across the Adirondacks and Washington and Warren Counties ranking high in New York State Bigfoot reports, it’s no wonder that Whitehall throws one of the most unique celebrations in Upstate New York each fall.
