Buffalo Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick signed 6-year contract extension worth $59 million, including $24 million in guaranteed money.

The Buffalo Bills have made a commitment to quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.  The Harvard product has been productive with the Buffalo Bills.  He's thrown 44 touchdown passes and 31 interceptions in 27 starts with Buffalo.  Fitzpatrick is in his third season with the Bills.  He spent two seasons with the St. Louis Rams (2005-2006), and two seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals (2007-2008) before joining the Bills in 2009.

Heading into Week 8 in the NFL, Fitzpatrick has thrown the same amount of touchdown passes (12), the same amount of interceptions (6), and has the exact same passer rating (95.3) as Pittsburgh Steelers QB Big Ben Roethlisberger.  Not too shabby.  Fitzpatrick has been very consistent this season.  $24 million in guaranteed money is not outrageous.  I like this move by the Bills.
