Maple Hill graduate and Tampa Bay Rays farmhand Jaime Schultz worked 4.2 innings on Opening Night for the AA Montgomery Biscuits on Thursday.

He struck out nine and allowed just two earned runs in what turned out to be a 4-3 win for the Biscuits over the Chattanooga Lookouts.

Schultz is armed with a mid-90s fastball as well as a good offspeed repertoire.

He is coming off a season in which he spent time at Low-A Bowling Green and in Charlotte. He was 2-1 with Bowling Green with a 1.95 ERA.  He's always been a high strikeout guy, fanning 143 in 109 career minor league innings until this season.
