Shaka Smart at Wrigley Field

Unlike VCU's suspect NCAA Tournament berth, head coach Shaka Smart earned his invitation to sing, "Take Me Out to the Ball Game."  He's a little too stiff with the "1-2-3" at the :56 second mark.

I know, I know.  I'm still a stick in the mud when it comes to VCU getting invited to the 2011 NCAA Tournament.  Their regular-season credentials weren't as strong as other teams like Virginia Tech and Colorado.  The success they had in the NCAA Tournament doesn't change or validate their regular-season credentials.

Now, I take nothing away from their postseason run.  It was a great tournament run all the way to the Final Four.  Shaka Smart earned all of the props he got and deserved to be at Wrigley Field signing.  It did a decent rendition.  I give it a 6.5.  He was a little stiff in spots but overall I think it was solid.
