George Karl Is Coming Back To Albany
Former NBA Head Coach George Karl has a history with the Capital Region and in particular the Albany Patroons. As part of Karl's storied basketball coaching career he spent two season's right here in Albany where he won all his home games and a title in the 1990 - 1991 season. Karl is coming back to Albany for the premiere of "The Minor League Mecca" a movie all about the Albany Patroons franchise.

The Albany Patroons are back! The Albany Armory will be the place to be this MLK Day. Monday will be game one of a two day home stand and in honor of MLK Day Matinee game. 3:05pm tip. All kids 12 and under get in free with a paying adult. Patroons versus Rochester Razorsharks.

One of the many storied sports franchises the Capital Region was once proud to call our own was the Albany Patroons. The Patroons were a very successful Basketball team that was once coached by NBA coaching legend Phil Jackson. The Patroons played in the Washington Armory and won titles in 1984 and 1988. The team would hang it up in 2009 but they're back now!
