The New York Yankees enjoyed a dramatic 10th inning walk-off win over the second-place Baltimore Orioles, at the Stadium on Tuesday night. That wasn't the only excitement that one particular fan had in the stands during the first game of the series between the two AL East teams.
Some things in baseball seem like they would happen more than they do. For instance, a player hitting four home runs in a game has happened only 17 times in Major League Baseball history. On Sunday, a New York Yankees pitcher accomplished one of those rare baseball feats.
I don't know about you, but out of context, to me, it certainly looked like the Orioles' grounds crew was ejected in their game against the Yankees last week.
The New York Yankees Schedule was going to be different than we're used to even if everything went as planned during this shortened 60 game season. Factor in the Miami Marlins having 17 members of the team test positive for COVID-19 and the ripple effects that caused and we get an impromptu two-game series in Baltimore against the Orioles instead of the home opener at Yankee Stadium against the Philadelphia Phillies for the next two games. We now have the opponent and location but were waiting on the times for Wednesday and Thursday. We have that as well so let's get ready to enjoy some Yankees' baseball.
The New York Yankees were supposed to be playing game two of a four game home and home series against the Philadelphia Phillies tonight but thanks to COVID-19 tonight's game is postponed. There are now at least 17 members of the Miami Marlins who just played the Phillies who have tested positive for the coronavirus. So the league is being cautious and not playing in Philly again tonight. Which means there's a lot of questions about who, where and if the Yankees will be playing again any time soon.
A mere three games into this 60 game season and we already have a COVID-19 outbreak in MLB and it directly affects the New York Yankees. The Miami Marlins have had at least 13 players and coaches test positive for the coronavirus. This after playing a weekend series in Philadelphia where the Yankees were scheduled to play tonight.
Before this season even began MLB experts like our own Buster Olney said don't worry about the early season injuries for the New York Yankees. They said that because teams like the Baltimore Orioles were on the schedule for the Bronx Bombers. Now that the season series between the Yankees and Orioles is complete it's easy to see just how right Buster was.
Buster Olney is our favorite MLB Insider and he joins us every week to go through the latest news and rumors across the league. The New York Yankees are white hot, The New York Mets seem to be a powder keg and the Baltimore Orioles are a dumpster fire. How bad will Buster make Goz feel about his favorite, the Orioles?
The New York Yankees lost yet another game to the hapless Baltimore Orioles. That means that the O's have now won five of the none head to head meetings with the Yankees this season. Making the Orioles just one of two teams holding a winning record over the Yankees this season...the other being the Texas Rangers(2-1 against the Yankees). With all of that being said, tonight IS NOT A MUST WIN!!!
Jose Bautista is still looking for a home for next season, and it's starting to look like he's willing to take a deal that would be for fewer years. Also, include the fact that some of the biggest bats in free agency have already signed with teams such as Edwin Encarnacion signing with the Cleveland Indians and Yoenis Cespedes returning to the New York Mets.
