Three Section 2 Boys' basketball teams won State Championships and all three provided great story lines.

There were nasty snow squalls mixed in with some bone-chilling wind but that didn't stop the teams playing on the first sectional Saturday of 2022. The Section 2 high school basketball championships continued on schedule. There were 16 games on the docket, all in girls basketball.

It was a cold Wednesday night in the Capital Region but some high school basketball teams brought their own heat to the Section II scoreboard. There were 10 match-ups in boys basketball on the schedule and 14 more for the girls. A big congratulations goes out to Tom Galvin the girls basketball coach at Bishop Maginn. Tom won his 400th game as a head coach on Tuesday with their decisive win over Loudonville Christian.

Wednesday night was a light night on the local high school basketball courts and score reporting was even lighter! Thank you to everyone that reached out to me @charlievoelker on Twitter to request scores to be posted. We are working on getting regular reporting of scores and highlights.
