Even though racing was cancelled at Saratoga Race Course on Sunday due to Hurricane Irene, on-track wagering was still up compared to the 2010 race season through week six (33 days) of the meet.
Let's be honest, there aren't any sure bets at the Saratoga Race Course. You can study the Daily Racing Form. You can look at past performances or you can go with a trainer/jockey tandem.
But there seems to be a couple of sure-fire Saratoga bets that work for me every week.
Congrats to 24-1 long shot Ruler On Ice - who won the Belmont Stakes on Saturday. And let's give props to Stay Thirsty - who was 2nd in the final leg of the Triple Crown.
