We have been hearing for some time that the Capital Region will be getting two Chick-fil-A locations (other than the one inside the airport). It seems planning is moving along quite nicely for the Clifton Park location. The Town of Clifton Park Planning Board just got renderings and plans for what that restaurant may look like.
The New York State Thruway is in the process of overhauling all 27 of the rest areas. Although they are only working on a handful at a time, the renderings have been revealed. Not only will they be more of an open concept, but some will also have dog parks and all will have better food options. Look for Shake Shack, Panera, Starbucks, Panda Express, Chik-fil-A, Popeyes, Dunkin, Burger King, and a new fresh concept Applegreen convenience stores. Taste NY farm markets will be at each rest area along with play areas and picnic areas. There will be amenities for commercial truck drivers including more truck parking, showers, fitness centers, and laundry facilities.
The New York State Thruway Authority will begin a four hundred fifty million dollar project to renovate the twenty-seven service areas throughout New York state. They will rebuild twenty-three of the rest area buildings and the others will be significantly upgraded.
How bad do you want some Chick-Fil-A? Members of the RPI Cross Country team wanted it bad enough to buy a ticket to Ft Lauderdale Florida and never get on the plane. Meet Vince Putrino and Ryan Morrison. These two and many other members of the RPI Cross Country/ Track and Field team enjoyed Chick-Fil-A after Vince went through TSA at Albany International Airport on a lunch run.
The RPI Cross Country/Track team wanted Chick-Fil-A and was willing to go to Florida to get it. Well not really but they were willing to buy a ticket to Florida to get into Albany International Airport to get Chick-Fil-A.
Free agent linebacker Justin Durant played for the Detroit Lions for the past two seasons. Durant hopes the team will re-sign him, but he's not taking any chances just in case. On Thursday, Durant jokingly filled out an employment application at Chick-fil-A and tweeted that, you know, it's rough out there for an NFL free agent these days:
Rough outchea bruh twitpic...
