Another popular Italian gourmet market is closing its doors. Close to its seventeenth anniversary, the owner of Via Fresca in Albany decided it was time to say, "Ciao!".

In a short message on their Facebook page, a popular Saratoga County seafood spot known for its fish fries, New England clam chowder, onion rings, and many other delicious items is closing.

When you think of fish fries in the Capital Region, there are many restaurants that come to mind. But there is one local chain that has been here for over sixty years. One of their original locations is closing its doors forever.

The sad news comes only days after a similar announcement.

Schenectady will be closing one of its grocery stores today, Wednesday, September 14th to make way for another one in Rotterdam that will open tomorrow, Thursday, September 15th. It has been a long time coming and residents are excited.

In my opinion and many throughout the Capital Region, there was one premier burger joint and they just announced they will be closing their doors soon. As much as this news stings, there is a glimmer of hope that they will resurface again when the location is right.

A smaller Price Chopper store will be closing its doors next month. Although it is not one of Price Chopper's larger supermarkets, it did serve a purpose in Saratoga Springs as more of a convenience store for the residents nearby.
