The University of Albany Great Danes Baseball team is currently waiting to see who they'll play in the America East Tournament but they've won a major honor. Head Coach Jon "Bam Bam" Mueller is the unanimous winner of the America East Coach of the Year. As someone who has had the pleasure of talking baseball with and getting to know Coach Mueller I can't think of a better person to win this honor. As you would expect Bam Bam even handles winning with humility and gratitude.

San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich has just won the NBA coach of the Year award after leading the Spurs once again to the overall number one seed. This is the four time NBA champions 3rd time winning the award, joining Don Nelson and Pat Riley as the only three-time winners...

I am not sure anyone would have any qualms with this award presentation. Well maybe our own Jay Sanin or Brian Cady, two Irish haters. Brian Kelly, who has led the Irish to a national championship opportunity out of nowhere and an undefeated season, wins AP Coach of the Year...

Union men's ice hockey head coach Rick Bennett was named one of seven finalists for the Spencer Penrose Award given annually to the NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Coach of the Year, the American Hockey Coaches Association announced today.
