He is certainly the most popular player on the New York Mets and for the last two All Star Home Run Derbies, he has been a fan favorite, as well. On Monday, the Amazin's first baseman slugger and two-time defending champion, Pete Alonso confirmed that he will indeed participate in the 2022 mid-summer classic Derby. It's not really a surprise since the man dubbed the "polar bear" seems to REALLY love this event.

If you like monstrous home runs, last night's Home Run Derby was a fun night for you. If you like stories about true life champions, well then you really enjoyed the show. New York Mets' Pete Alonso and Baltimore Orioles' Trey Mancini provided all of the athletic theatrics and moon shot home runs that any fan could ask for plus a story line that was worth the price of admission.

Tonight over 6 million people will tune in their televisions to a sold out Coors Field in Colorado to see Major League Baseball players take glorified batting practice. A pitcher, that the Major League hitter is familiar with, will attempt to throw perfect pitches and the batter will attempt to deposit them deep into the caverns of seats in the outfield filled outstretched arms attached to gloves waiting to absorb a piece of baseball history.

The Polar Bear is taking yet another plunge into the MLB Home Run Derby, but it won't be easy.

ESPN MLB Insider Buster Olney joined us today to share his thoughts on MVP, London Baseball and the Home Run Derby. Buster joined us late because he was talking to a MLB player. Mets' rookie star Peter "The Polar Bear"" Alonso was on the phone with Buster.

One of the amazing moments for Aaron Judge in a season full of amazement was when he hit 56 total Home Runs to overcome the field and win the Home run Derby. Making Judge the first ever rookie to win the MLB Home Run Derby out right as a rookie. I hope you DVR'd it because Judge says it was his last Home Run Derby.

The Home Run Derby last night was one of the most intense and exciting Derby I can remember. There were many changes from timed rounds to no Chris Berman but man oh man did those baseballs fly. I loved it just watching at home on TV. What was it like live in Marlins Park...
