The inaugural season for the Albany Empire didn't end in the Arena Bowl like we all hoped but there's been no shortage of awards. The latest hardware to come to the super talented roster, just today Wide Receiver Malachi Jones was named the Arena Football League Rookie of the Year.

For the first time this season Albany Empire Wide Receiver Malachi Jones joined us in studio to talk about the season and this week's game against the Washington Valor. It was no surprise that Jones was a great guy or that he loves his team but the love the Georgia native has for the Capital Region was pretty heart warming.

The Empire won last Saturday night in commanding fashion 47 - 23 with a great effort on both sides of the ball especially last week's "Player to Watch" Joe Hills. This week I have my eye on Wide Receiver Malachi Jones.

The Albany Empire got their first win last Saturday and one of the reasons they were able to click on offense and score 47 points in a 47 - 23 rout of the Washington Valor was wide receiver Joe "Superman" Hills. Hills was my player to watch last week and he didn't let me down, making 7 catches for 85 yards and 3 Touchdowns.
