Robert Griffin III and Mike Shanahan battled their way through preseason up until this point with RG III telling the media he wants to play in the exhibition games and that will be ready for Week 1.  Shanahan disputed RG III being ready for the opener and said the second year QB won't play much in the preseason if at all.

Kudos to the Washington Redskins for finally making a good move. A franchise that whiffed on Albert Hainsworth, Jason Cambell, Mike Shanahan, and many other blunders came up huge aquiring the rights to the 2nd pick in the upcoming NFl draft where they will select Robert Griffin the 3rd...

The Buffalo Bills are back on the right track. The Bills traveled north of the border, to Toronto, and for the first time had success, shutting out Washington 23-0, at Rogers Centre. Buffalo (5-2) has opened the season winning its first four home games, something it hasn't done since 1995...

If there's an NFL season or even an NFL training camp, the Tampa Bay Buccanneers are the early favorite to be the featured team on HBO's Hard Knocks. But my vote is for the Washington Redskins - and not because I'm a fan.

When the Redskins traded for Donovan McNabb last Easter, I thought the Easter Bunny had delivered me a gift (even though I'm Jewish). The Skins now had an elite Hall of Fame caliber quarterback to go along with a competent coach. Oh how I was wrong.
