Suffice to say neither the Mets or Yanks are as hot as the weather in New York as we get set to start the " 2nd half" of the baseball season. The Mets are looking for respectability. The Yankees seek another playoff birth. Both have 2 big questions to settle as the season picks up starting Friday...

Back in 2010, the Yankees failed to get Cliff Lee because minor league infielder David Adams didn't pass a physical due to a bum ankle and so the trade never happened with Seattle and Lee went to Texas instead and helped the Rangers win the pennant.  Lee, at that time, was the surest pitcher in baseball.  He isn't that now, at the age of 34, but the Yankees should still go get him.

Well Met fans we should be used to this. Came up short again. Well at least the Mets are consistent. What is the losing streak up to now? This time the previous small market Cleveland Indians won the battle to Michael Bourne as the Mets decided that 11th pick in the 1st round was more valuable then a guy who could step right in and help this ballclub and by all accounts wanted to come to New York.
