The Lacrosse team has had some of the games greatest players and has become a national power but haven't won in the Quarterfinals yet. University of Denver stands in their way. In a season where The University of Albany Great Danes Lacrosse team has toppled Syracuse and Maryland they now get to prove they're Tournament ready. The NCAA Division One Men's Lacrosse Championship Tournament teams have been announce. The Great Danes have secured the second overall seeding and will begin their chase of a National title right here in the Capital Region.

The Great Danes were upset by UMBC over the weekend.

It's rare in my opinion that the #1 seed needs a win in a #1 VS #2 match up more than the #2 seed does but that's the case this Saturday. The number one lacrosse team in the country Albany Great Danes travel to the second seeded Maryland Terrapins this Saturday at noon and the pressure in on UAlbany.

In UAlbany's first game ranked number one in the nation they got a test many of us weren't expecting. After taking down Syracuse in Syracuse 15-3 and Drexel here in Albany 18-5, it seemed like the Great Danes wouldn't be challenged again until they traveled to Maryland on March 10th. Cornell had other ideas.

The UAlbany Great Danes lacrosse team sits atop the national rankings this morning after Pennsylvania beat Duke and the Great Danes put a beating on the Syracuse Orange and Drexel in consecutive weekends.
