The Kansas City Royals made a terrific choice on Sunday for their new manager. Bethlehem Central High School graduate Matt Quatraro will take the reins of the Major League Baseball franchise, taking over for Mike Matheny, who was fired after a disappointing season. New Royals executive vice president and general manager, J.J. Picollo tabbed Quatraro on Sunday to guide his team to reach their potential.

It should have been an awesome celebration. Gleyber Torres came off the bench and delivered a pinch-hit single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning for a 5-4 comeback victory for New York Yankees over the Cleveland Guardians. Fans should have been cheering and players should have been jumping up and down with happiness. That happened briefly, then the ugliness in right-field began.

On the 100-year anniversary of Fenway Park, fans of the Boston Red Sox began the day cheering for Terry “Tito” Francona out of sheer joy and elation when he walked onto the field for a pregame ceremony. But by the end of this afternoon’s 6-2 loss to the Yankees, those same fans would chant “We Want Tito” with great disdain towards Boston’s new manager Bobby Valentine.
