It was a night to forget for Saratoga native Tim Stauffer. The San Diego starting pitcher allowed five homeruns in the first three innings. The Cincinnati Reds hit seven in all — matching an MLB record — in a 13-1 victory over the Padres.

Tim Stauffer has been one of the best pitchers in Major League Baseball over the past month. On Wednesday night, the Saratoga native shutout the Dodgers as the San Diego Padres avoided a three-game sweep with a 3-0 win.

Tim Stauffer has been the Padres most consistent starting pitcher this year. But on Sunday, the Saratoga native struggled for one of the few times this season and the result was a 5-3 Philadelphia win in front of 45,241 at Citizens Bank Park.

Tim Stauffer continued his hot streak on Tuesday night.  The Saratoga native pitched 6 shutout innings as four relievers completed a six-hitter to help the San Diego Padres beat the Florida Marlins, 4-0.

Saratoga native Tim Stauffer continued his recent dominance on Tuesday night.  The Padres pitcher picked up his 3rd straight win as San Diego defeated the San Francisco Giants, 5-3. He got the victory against the Giants team that knocked them out of the playoffs on the final day of the 2010 season.

Tim Stauffer had the mojo working on Wednesday afternoon. The Saratoga native pitched 7 strong innings leading the San Diego Padres to a 4-1 win over the Kansas City Royals.

It took 11 starts but Saratoga native Tim Stauffer finally got his first win of the season. Stauffer pitched seven innings and allowed one run as the San Diego Padres beat the Washington Nationals 2-1 in a Saturday afternoon matchup.

Congrats to Saratoga's Tim Stauffer and Schenectady's Casper Wells.  Both Capital Region natives are on Major League Baseball rosters for the 2011 season.
