I'm thinking that this lovely Friday needs a huge smile attached to it. An "it feels good to be Friday" smile. Oh, and I'm not talking about the kind of smile motivated by the thought of a booze-filled weekend. I'm talking "holy crap people are awesome" as they cheer on this little kid. Yeah, that kind of smile.

Forget A-Rod, steroids and the Yanks losing games. In my mind that's all trivial. There's some good coming out of the MLB and it involves an old time first base coach, kids sitting in the stands and some damn good advice.

Chris Bosh is often a forgotten man on the Miami Heat, living in the shadows of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade as the third member of the Big Three. However, I don't recall LeBron or Wade ever having to avenge their father's death through an adventure in the multiverse as Bosh had to do in this animated short film.

This NBA season has been one of the best ever in terms of pure athletic talent which, of course, means that there have been no shortage of ridiculous dunks. The NBA compiled the top ten of the 2012-2013 season which, unsurprisingly, is full of windmills and the Los Angeles Clippers.

There are three types of play by play broadcasters in this world: the ones that are so boring that it's comical, the onesso excited that it's comical, and the ones that know how to get a big call just right. This guy falls into that final category.

Not so long ago there were 3 playoff teams playing in the Los Angeles Staples Center.  The NHL's Kings and the NBA's Lakers and Clippers. Just last week there were 6 games played in a matter of 4 days.

This past weekend saw the Sprint Cup Series at Talladega Superspeedway. History shows that there is bound to be a crash or two during a race there and there were certainly a few on Sunday. Following the race, reporters talked to Tony Stewart and he said that there weren't enough crashes.
