The Growth of Major League Lacrosse & Upcoming Draft
Former UAlbany and Section II lacrosse players are making their mark in Major League Lacrosse and at least a handful are on the verge of joining that group from the Capital Region.
First the time, MLL will hold its draft in Charlotte at the NASCAR Hall of Fame on March 9. College seniors are eligible and that list includes Sean Eccles and Jack Burgmaster from UAlbany as well as Niskayuna grad John Prendergast (Duke) and Shen's Kyle Marr (Johns Hopkins).
Lyle Thompson continues to see his star rise in MLL with the Chesapeake Bayhawks and the league is growing in terms of schedule, roster size and salary cap. Commissioner Sandy Brown is entering his second year with the league and he joined Big Board Sports Friday morning to talk about the advancements the league is making and its embrace for what is a multi-cultural sport.
