Yankees Clobber Cubs To Capture Weekend Series

The New York Yankees went into Wrigley Field in Chicago and come away winning 2 of 3 games.  The beat the Cubs on Sunday 10-4.

Inter-league play was once again good to the Yankees.  The take the weekend series with Chicago and now move on to face Cincinnati.  The Yankee offense continues to make things very easy for the pitching staff as the bomber come away with a 1-4 victory.

CC Sabathia perfomred well.  He goes 7 innings for the win.  he would give up 4 runs on 8 hits, but the Yankees quickly made it easy for him to glide through the rest of the game.

They would tie things up in the 6th inning, then Nick Swisher would seal that win with a big 3 run shot in the 8th.  Swisher had a fantastic game.  He was 3-5 with 4 RBIs.  Brett Gardner was also 3-5 yesterday, he too would add an RBI with a solo shot in the first inning.  Alex Rodriguez was pretty productive as well, he was 3-4 including a double.

The Yanks still 1.5 back of Boston for first place in the AL East.  Boston also makes good on inter-league play by beating Milwaukee yesterday 12-3.   The Rays remain 4.5 back in third place.

Yankees will open up a series against Cincinnati tonight 7:10p start time.
