Tyler Badamo is a New York Mets prospect, currently playing in High-A ball in Columbia, S.C. He spent last season with the Brooklyn Cyclones but did not pitch against the Tri-City ValleyCats.

He joined us today to talk about his time in Brooklyn, his career at Dowling College (which has since closed its doors), playing for a team near his hometown and more.

We also asked him what he thinks of minor league team names and minor league promotions and we spoke about his difficult road to professional baseball, which included losing his dad during his senior year of high school.

Badamo is currently on the 7-day disabled list so we asked about his health and also sought to figure out the key to what makes the Mets so strong at developing pitchers. Badamo talked about meeting with Matt Harvey, Jacob deGrom and Steven Matz.
