According to the Huffington Post, long time Penn State football coach Joe Paterno has died from lung cancer.  Those reports are now being denied by a family spokesperson.  Paterno was diagnosed with lung cancer back in November, he is 85 years old.

Paterno has quite the legacy.  46 years as head coach of Penn State, 409 wins including two National Championships (1982 and 1986).  This past year was a black mark on his famous career when one of his long time coaches, Jerry Sandusky, was charged with multiple counts of child molestation.  Paterno was relieved of his duties at Penn State, along with a laundry list of other officials when it was discovered that they may have known about the allegations.

Joe's son Jay tweeted that his dad is still here and everyone's thoughts and prayers are appreciated. We'll keep you updated as the story develops.
