March 28, 2012 marks the 20-year anniversary of Christian Laettner's famous shot against Kentucky.  It got me thinking about the best play in sports over the last 20 years.  What would you choose?

There are a ton of great plays in sports over the last 20 years.  I mentioned a handful of stellar plays in the video above.  However, in the interest of saving time, there were plenty of great plays that weren't mentioned-  I doubt you would watch a NoeBrainer that was 47 minutes long.  Anyway, from Derek Jeter's flip against the Oakland A's and dive into the stands against the Red Sox, to Tiger Woods' epic chip in the 2005 Masters, there are a million great plays to choose from.

Personally, I'm going with David Tyree's epic catch in Super Bowl XLII.  David Tyree made an absolutely ridiculous catch with Rodney Harrison draped all over him.  Tyree pinned the ball to his helmet and managed to keep the ball off of the ground when he came crashing down to the turf.  It was an awesome play on a key 3rd and 5 conversion during the Giants game-winning drive.  Tyree's catch was a huge reason the Giants were able to beat the previously undefeated Patriots 17-14.

On a local level, Siena's Edwin Ubiles had an awesome 360 dunk in the second half of the MAAC Championship against Fairfield.  Siena went on to beat Fairfield to capture the title.  I'm not putting this play on the top of the list when it comes to the best sports play in the Capital Region over the last 20 years, but it definitely deserves to be mentioned.
